Somil Gupta is an Associate in the Digital Regulations, Emerging
Technology, Privacy & Cybersecurity at Chandiok & Mahajan,
advising clients on data protection compliance, privacy assessments, and regulatory matters across Indian and global privacy frameworks. His practice focuses on India’s DPDP Act, IT Act, RBI and IRDAI issued guidelines and directions on privacy, along with global privacy frameworks including GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, HIPAA, and UAE healthcare data protection frameworks such as ADHICS, DHA, and DIFC. He advises clients on data processing practices, privacy governance, contractual obligations, and compliance framework implementation, with experience in conducting privacy audits, DPIAs, gap assessments, RoPA development, transfer impact assessments, data mapping, and drafting and reviewing privacy documentation. Prior to joining C&M, Somil worked with Grant Thornton Bharat LLP in the Data Privacy practice, supporting clients across financial  services, insurance, technology, and healthcare sectors. He is a DSCI
Certified Privacy Professional (DCPP) and a CIPP/E-certified professional from International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), with expertise in Indian and global data protection laws.
